Looking for a CraftyStats alternative?
CraftyStats is a good Etsy tool at a fair price — competitor analytics, price history charts, price-change notifications and a Chrome extension, from $10/month with a free tier. ShelfHawk costs more and does less inside Etsy. It exists for the seller whose competition is not confined to Etsy, and who wants a recommended price in response to a rival move rather than just a record of it.
Side by side
Depth inside Etsy versus breadth across marketplaces
CraftyStats goes deeper on Etsy than we do — keyword tracking, a richer browser extension, cheaper tiers. ShelfHawk goes wider, and recommends what to do about it. The right answer depends entirely on where your rivals sell.

The actual difference
Recording a price change is not the same as answering one
A price history chart tells you what already happened. It is genuinely useful for research — setting an opening price, understanding a niche, spotting a rival who discounts every holiday. What it does not do is close the gap between a rival cutting their price on Friday night and you noticing on Monday.
ShelfHawk is built around that gap. Tracked listings are checked every day (twice a day on higher plans), every change is logged with a timestamp and a delta, and whatever changed arrives as one plain-English briefing at the time you choose. When a change warrants a response, ShelfHawk recommends a price — and if you also sell on a Shopify store, auto-pilot can move it inside the guardrails you set and log exactly what it did, or hold it as a one-click decision.
The other half is coverage. If you sell the same product on Etsy and eBay, or run a Shopify store alongside your Etsy shop, an Etsy-only tool watches one front of a two-front competition. The same watchlist in ShelfHawk covers both, in one briefing, with one set of alert rules.
Our actual recommendation
Which one you should buy
Pick CraftyStats if Etsy is your only channel, you want Etsy keyword tracking, you like working from a Chrome extension while browsing, or you want to start free. At $10–25/month for 20–50 tracked shops it is priced well for what it does.
Pick ShelfHawk if your competitive set spans more than Etsy, if you want a recommended price rather than just a notification, or if you want your supplier costs watched alongside your rivals' prices. From $39/month with a 14-day free trial.
If you are one shop on one marketplace, we are probably not the right purchase yet, and saying so costs us less than a refund request would. The moment you add a second channel, the calculation changes and the breadth starts paying for itself.
Common questions
CraftyStats vs ShelfHawk FAQs
Is ShelfHawk cheaper than CraftyStats?
No. CraftyStats is $0 for 1 shop and 3 products, $10 for 20 shops and 50 products, and $25 for 50 shops and 120 products. ShelfHawk starts at $39/month. On raw shops-tracked-per-dollar for Etsy, CraftyStats is the better deal and we are not going to argue otherwise.
What does ShelfHawk do that CraftyStats does not?
It looks outside Etsy. CraftyStats is an Etsy-only tool — shop analytics, product analysis, keyword tracking and price history, all within Etsy. ShelfHawk tracks rival listings on Etsy, eBay, Shopify and Amazon in a single watchlist. On Watch + Suggest and up it recommends a price for each of your products, can reprice a Shopify store automatically inside guardrails you set (not Etsy listings), and tracks supplier costs. CraftyStats reports; it does not recommend.
Does CraftyStats have a Chrome extension?
Yes, and it is a genuine advantage — you can pull competitor data while browsing Etsy without switching to a dashboard. ShelfHawk has a free Chrome extension too, but it does less: one click saves a rival’s Etsy, eBay or Shopify listing to your watchlist, and it shows no competitor data while you browse. If in-browser research while you shop Etsy is your main workflow, that difference matters.
Which one should a brand-new Etsy seller choose?
Almost certainly CraftyStats, or its free tier at minimum. A new single-shop Etsy seller does not need multi-marketplace coverage or automated repricing, and paying $39 for capability you will not use is a bad trade. Come back to ShelfHawk when you add a second sales channel or when manually responding to rival price moves starts costing you real money.
